BEFORE / AFTER

Brand Evolution

The Ticketmaster Design team had just undergone an extensive design system rebuild to support Ticketmaster product design. They saw, however, that when applied to their brand marketing, the design system didn’t quite carry the life and vibrancy of a live event, and was falling flat. The brand was also steeped in a 90’s alt-rock feel in brand photography and treatments, utilizing dated design elements and silhouetted photography. Type design was not monitored or cohesive across the brand, and had no real system for usage.

BEFORE: 2017

Brand evolution. Sharpened color palette and typography usage, elevating to a more premium brand identity. Reimagined all live events, including artist showcases and branded conferences.

AFTER: 2019
  • Humanizing a historically transactional brand. Focusing on capturing the visceral emotion of live events and utilizing them in Ticketmaster’s branding.

  • Celebrating connection. Live events are all about connecting with your favorite artist, favorite team, favorite music or fellow fans.

  • Faces, not silhouettes. We want to remind you of what it feels like to stand in the front row of your favorite show, or on the sidelines of your favorite team. We do that by focusing in on the emotion in the faces of fans.

  • Experts in live. Ticketmaster knows live events. We want to convey power, history, and authority in everything we do.

Redesigned the consumer-facing and B2B Ticketmaster brand experience. Revised color palette, typography, illustration style, photography style. Came to life through updated brand guidelines, marketing materials, brand social and advertising.
